BNI Madagascar, a banking and financial services company with its headquarters in Antananarivo, has partnered with and assigned Orion Innovation the responsibility of spearheading the rollout of Temenos’ cloud-based core banking platform.
Alexandre Mey, CEO of BNI Madagascar, confirmed the partnership in a statement on Friday.
The bank claims to be in the midst of a “digital modernization journey” for its retail and SME clientele, offering a variety of retail, business, and institutional services in all 23 regions of Madagascar.
As part of the deal, Orion will modernise BNI’s product offering to provide consumers individualised, digital-first banking solutions by integrating Temenos’ cloud-based core banking platform into BNI’s operations.
Newsng gathered that the platform was previously deployed for several Temenos clients, including Gulf Bank in Sudan and Cebuana Lhuillier Bank in the Philippines and Africa. The firm provides services for digital transformation and product creation.
Mey said: “We are committed to reinforcing our leadership in the banking sector while steering the digital revolution in Madagascar. Our vision is to create an integrated banking ecosystem that not only meets the current market needs but also anticipates them.”
A single banking experience across many touchpoints, including online, mobile, and in-branch services, is made possible by the agreement, which reinforces Orion’s commitment to investing in Africa’s digital transformation path according to experts.
Thibault Huvelle, Head of Digital at BNI Madagascar, added: “By advancing towards a comprehensive digital ecosystem, we are transforming every digital interaction into an exceptional customer experience.
“We work closely with cutting-edge external partners like Orion, to ensure that our solutions are advanced and tailored to the specific needs of the Malagasy market. It marks a new era for banking, where technology continually enriches the user experience.”
We earlier reported that TikTok and Universal Music Group have reached “a new multi-dimensional licencing agreement.”
The agreement “will deliver significant industry-leading benefits for UMG’s global family of artists, songwriters, and labels and will return their money.”
