Disney+ would undergo significant changes later this year, including pricing increases and the addition of live news and what it refers to as “continuous playlists.”
The entertainment company is introducing a new round of pricing increases that its subscribers won’t be happy about.
As per the report, individual monthly and annual subscriptions to Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN will all increase starting on October 17.
Disney Plus ad-supported monthly subscriptions will increase from $8 to $10.
The Disney Plus monthly ad-free tier will now cost $16, while the yearly ad-free plans will now cost $160 instead of the previous $140.
Monthly ad-free plans on Hulu will increase from $18 to $19, while the ad-supported tier will go from $8 per month and $80 per year to $10 per month and $100 per year.
The $11 per month and $110 per year plans offered by ESPN Plus will now run you $12 per month and $120 per year, respectively.
Additionally, customers who have Disney’s basic and premium streaming bundles will notice a slight increase in their payments this autumn.
“With this growing offering, and new ways to enjoy your favorite Disney+ content, Disney subscription plans remain among the best values in streaming today,” the company said in announcing the price hikes.
Four more specially selected playlists with Disney+ content that is updated monthly will be made available to Premium subscribers later this autumn.
