Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi “Gigio” Donnarumma has officially joined English Premier League club Manchester City on a deal that will expire in June 2030.
After spending three seasons with the top-flight French team Paris Saint-Germain, the 25-year-old Italian goalkeeper has joined the former Premier League winners.
Per a post shared on the X page (formerly Twitter) of transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a long-term deal was agreed with the player weeks ago after Man City goalkeeper Ederson signed for Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

“A long-term deal was agreed weeks ago and all done between the two clubs after Ederson signed for Fenerbahçe.” Romano wrote on his official X page.
With his Champions League-winning experience and international background as Italy’s Euro 2020 star, Donnarumma is seen by City as a long-term goalkeeper replacement.
Given that James Trafford is presently Pep Guardiola’s first-choice goalkeeper, his presence at the Etihad is anticipated to increase competition for the top goalkeeping position.
The agreement, which binds Donnarumma to the Etihad Stadium for the next six years, emphasises City’s long-term investment approach in top players.
