Dr. Chioma Ejikeme has officially commenced her second four-year term as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).
Expressing deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and affirming her appreciation for the support, Ejikeme conveyed the news to pensioners and stakeholders.
In her address, Ejikeme thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to continue her service and extended her gratitude to the pensioners and stakeholders who offered congratulations through various means, such as tweets, messages, and newspapers.
Acknowledging the substantial responsibility held by PTAD in managing Defined Benefit Pensions, Ejikeme highlighted the achievements made over the past decade.
The PTAD, under different leadership, has emerged as an organization known for its innovative, efficient, and technology-driven pension services, ensuring regular and arrears payments, resolving inherited liabilities, and implementing the ‘I Am Alive Verification’.
Despite past successes, Ejikeme emphasized that there is more to be accomplished. She pointed out pending issues such as payments to Next of Kin (NOKs), unresolved inherited liabilities, pension harmonization, and the implementation of constitutional five-year pension increments.
Additionally, Ejikeme stressed the importance of fully implementing the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for pensioners and refining the “I Am Alive Verification” process.
Assuring pensioners of PTAD’s unwavering dedication to their welfare, Ejikeme pledged to work diligently to address outstanding issues and solidify the gains made in previous years.
