The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] has produced Mr Godwin Emefiele, who is the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] in court following the direction of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
On Monday, Justice Adeniyi reaffirmed his directive from November 2nd, which instructed the anti-corruption commission to either promptly and unconditionally free Emefiele or bring him before the court to be granted bail.
To uphold his fundamental rights, the former governor of CBN has filed a judicial case.
In the case, he joined the commission, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, and the Federal Government as defendants.
The matter has not yet been scheduled for a hearing as of the time of this report.
