Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said that there is no good reason why he would leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (APC).
El-Rufai stated this while reacting to a tweet by a spokesperson to the Atiku campaign organisation, Daniel Bwala.
Mr Bwala, a legal practitioner, recently resigned his membership of the APC to protest the ruling party’s Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket.
In a recent tweet, Governor El-Rufai shared an old video of Mr Bwala defending the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling APC.
Mr Bwala, in a reaction to El-Rufai’s video post, expressed optimism that El-Rufai would return to the PDP.
“My attention was drawn to @elrufai laughing at a comment made about my past video. Hmm @elrufai is one of the finest we have from the north. I will never join issues with him, especially because I am optimistic, he will be with us before the 2023 elections,” Bwala tweeted.
In a swift reaction on Monday, August 8, 2022, El-Rufai said he would never return to the PDP.
“Thanks @BwalaDaniel but no, thanks. Never ever, not even my corpse will be found in the vicinities of your new-found political party. I still dey laugh!!! (Laughter emojis),” the governor tweeted.
It would be recalled that El-Rufai, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was a member of the PDP until late 2014, when he and other top members of the party left for the APC.
