Elon Musk’s highly anticipated discussion with Republican presidential contender Donald Trump on the billionaire’s platform X was overshadowed by technical difficulties.
The conversation, in which Musk addressed pleasant questions about immigration and inflation started more than 40 minutes late due to technical difficulties for many users.
“This Space is not available,” stated a notification on X when I attempted to join it.
He stated that the audience would be limited and that a tape would be made available later.
Trump returned to the social media platform on Monday morning, posting for the first time since he was banned in January 2021.
Some of Trump’s Monday posts referenced his talk with Musk, while others included campaign commercials and links to the previous president’s website.
For the past three years, Trump has primarily posted on his own social media platform, Truth Social.
Newsng gathered that During an almost two-hour conversation, the two men discussed Trump’s Democratic competitor Kamala Harris, the European Union, China, climate change, censorship, and migration.
The Republican used the opportunity to speak at length about some of his favourite issues and reiterate claims that he is the victim of a political vendetta, while Musk again expressed his support for Trump.
Musk said that “a massive DDOS attack on X” had happened, which was allegedly the cause of the X Space crash. The owner of X claims that the social media site did extensive testing earlier today with 8 million concurrent listeners.
Musk began the Space interview by linking the purported DDOS attack – which stands for distributed denial-of-service, in which a bad actor floods an internet server with fake traffic – to opposition to hearing from the former President.
We earlier reported that X is currently embroiled in a scandal over its Grok AI training, as nine privacy complaints against the business have been made in the European Union, alleging that it exploited user data without consent.
