Enugu State has taken a significant step towards fostering the growth and success of Nano, Medium, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (NMSMEs) with the introduction of a pioneering initiative—the N1 Billion Matching Fund Programme.
The groundbreaking partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) aims to empower local businesses, fueling their progress and contributing to economic vitality.
The state is initiating Conditional Cash Grants tailored for 5,000 MSMEs as part of this initiative.
The grants are strategically crafted to offer essential financial support, enabling MSMEs to flourish in a competitive market.
”The collaboration between Enugu State and SMEDAN extends beyond financial aid, encompassing a range of impactful programs.
”These include skill acquisition initiatives, facilitation of startup loans, and the establishment of modular industrial estates.
”These efforts collectively aim to bolster the entrepreneurial ecosystem and drive economic growth within the state,” a statement from the Enugu government noted.
Governor Peter Mbah thanked Mr. Charles Odii, the Director General of SMEDAN, commending his visionary leadership, persistence, and dedication to supporting SMEs.
He thanked Mr Odii for personally attending the agreement-sealing ceremony in Enugu State last Thursday and reiterated the commitment to ongoing collaboration.
”This partnership aligns with the state’s overarching goal of advancing economic expansion and fostering a prosperous future for SMEs and the wider community,” the statement added.
