Topflight English Premier League (EPL) club Leicester City has appointed former Netherlands and Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy as the new coach.
Steve Cooper, who was fired from the Foxes last weekend after playing in just 12 Premier League games, gets replaced by the Dutchman.
It has been reported from major news outlets in the United Kingdom that Van Nistelrooy has agreed to a contract with the King Power Stadium that will expire in June 2027.
“I’m proud, I’m excited,” 48-year-old Van Nistelrooy said after his appointment.
“Everybody that I speak to about Leicester City is enthusiastic. They have great stories about the quality of the people working at the club, the supporters, and, of course, the recent history of the club is impressive.
His hiring comes two weeks after he left his position as Manchester United’s interim head coach, which he left open when Ruben Amorim took over at Old Trafford.
