Fenerbahçe have entered advanced negotiations with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad over a potential winter transfer for N’Golo Kanté, according to reports from @Santi_J_FM, as the Turkish giants look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the second half of the season.

The 34-year-old France international joined Al-Ittihad in 2023 following the expiration of his contract at Chelsea and has since been a key figure in the club’s midfield, bringing experience and tactical discipline to the Saudi side. Despite his age, Kanté remains highly regarded for his work rate, positional intelligence, and leadership qualities.

Sources close to the talks suggest Fenerbahçe view Kanté as a short-term but high-impact addition, capable of adding stability and European pedigree to their squad as they compete on multiple fronts, both domestically and in continental competitions.

The Istanbul-based club has been active in the transfer market in recent seasons, increasingly targeting experienced international players to complement a core of emerging talent. Kanté’s profile fits that strategy, offering a proven presence in high-pressure matches and a strong influence in the dressing room.

While negotiations are said to be progressing, no agreement has yet been finalised, with discussions ongoing regarding the structure of the deal, including salary commitments and the duration of any proposed contract.

Al-Ittihad, for their part, are understood to be weighing the sporting and commercial implications of allowing Kanté to leave midway through the season, particularly given his status as one of the marquee names in the Saudi Pro League.

If completed, the move would mark Kanté’s first spell in Turkish football and represent another notable acquisition for the Süper Lig, underlining its growing appeal as a destination for elite players in the latter stages of their careers.
