Flutterwave, one of Africa’s top fintech firms, has relaunched its Send App in multiple U.S. states after securing 20 new Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), bringing its total to 34 licenses across the country.

This expansion allows the company to operate in several jurisdictions without third-party intermediaries. U.S.-based users can now send funds directly to countries like Nigeria, Ghana, and Egypt, tapping into previously inaccessible corridors.

The updated Send App features:

Quick ID verification for faster onboarding

Enhanced security and compliance protocols

Better support for Visa and Discover cards issued in the U.S.

Streamlined user experience

States now included in the coverage include DC, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, South Carolina, and Tennessee, along with others like Alaska, Delaware, Indiana, Minnesota, Utah, and Puerto Rico, among others.

Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, Flutterwave’s CEO, emphasised the company’s mission: “By expanding our reach and enhancing our services, we are empowering millions of Africans in the US to maintain strong financial ties with their home countries, support their families, and contribute to economic development across the continent. Additionally, we are staying true to our core mission of bridging Africa with the global economy and vice versa.”

Earlier this year, Flutterwave added Swap integration for real-time foreign exchange and received Bank of Ghana approval for inward remittances, further strengthening its West African footprint.
