Fold Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: FLD), the first bitcoin-focused financial services company to go public, has launched a new Bitcoin Gift Card in partnership with Blackhawk Network (BHN), aiming to make bitcoin accessible through more than 400,000 retail and digital locations across the United States.
Currently available on select digital platforms, the gift card will gradually expand into physical stores later this year. The initiative is part of Fold’s effort to make bitcoin more usable for everyday consumers by embedding it into a familiar and widely adopted payment format—gift cards.
Fold CEO Will Reeves said the product is meant to simplify access to bitcoin, bringing it into people’s lives without the complexity of wallets or deep technical knowledge. “We’re bringing bitcoin to the mainstream through a format people already understand,” he noted.
Through BHN’s extensive retail infrastructure—which includes major e-commerce sites, loyalty programs, and reward networks—Fold gains direct access to a wide consumer base and broad distribution channels. Jennifer Philo, Global VP at BHN, emphasised that the market increasingly seeks versatile ways to give and store value, and crypto is naturally becoming part of that mix.
The Fold Bitcoin Gift Card, which first launched in May 2025, can be redeemed via the Fold App. It enables users to spend bitcoin without needing direct exposure to blockchain tools or custodial responsibilities. The company hopes the simplicity of the product will encourage wider adoption among newcomers to digital assets.
Fold already holds more than 1,492 BTC in its treasury and has steadily expanded its product suite, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the bitcoin economy.
