Nexo has named Lorenzo Pellegrino as its new Chief Banking Officer, bringing aboard a fintech veteran with more than two decades of experience in the global financial services industry. Pellegrino is widely recognised for his leadership in the online payments sector, particularly during his tenure as CEO of major digital wallet platforms Skrill and NETELLER.

Throughout his career, Pellegrino has been instrumental in developing financial tools and payment systems used by millions around the world. His time at Paysafe Group—a New York Stock Exchange-listed company—saw him oversee market expansion, product innovation, and regulatory alignment across fast-growing regions.

In his new role at Nexo, Pellegrino will focus on scaling the firm’s digital banking infrastructure. A major part of his mandate will involve enhancing the functionality of digital asset accounts to ensure seamless money movement for users. He will also lead the international launch of the Nexo Card, a key product aimed at allowing customers to use their crypto holdings in everyday transactions.

Commenting on his appointment, Pellegrino said he was drawn to Nexo’s ambition to blend the speed and flexibility of digital assets with the reliability and regulatory standards of traditional finance. He described the challenge of uniting compliance with convenience as something that has long defined his professional journey—and something he’s excited to tackle at Nexo.

Beyond operations, Pellegrino will also represent Nexo in public forums, contributing to global conversations on the intersection of crypto and traditional banking. His advocacy will touch on areas such as cross-border payments and the evolving infrastructure needed to support modern wealth management.
