Ex-UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has reflected on the devastating defeat he suffered at the hands of British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua last weekend.

Recall that Ngannou suffered a knockout at the hands of Joshua, who floored him in the first round and early in the second round of the much-anticipated fight, which he never recovered from before he was later sent crumbling to the canvas.

While reflecting on the boxing match that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ngannou, 37, said that he still needs to undergo some tests following the savage knockout.

“We move, but regardless, I feel okay. I was quite surprised that I remembered everything from that fight night and coming back to the locker room. Basically, I was conscious right after, and since then everything has been good, although I still need to do some medical work just in case.

“I feel healthy but for the longevity of the sport, we better check and find out if there’s anything that could be done to get better now… I still need more checkups.” Ngannous said.

In the summer, Joshua hopes to fight Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, or Zhilei Zhang. Following the undisputed heavyweight match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua may then look to defend his belt.
