Getafe president Ángel Torres has revealed that the club is open to bringing Christantus Uche back from his loan at Crystal Palace, following the midfielder’s struggle for regular minutes in the Premier League.
Uche moved to Selhurst Park in the summer on a season-long loan, with the deal including a mandatory purchase option contingent upon certain performance-related conditions.
However, those conditions now appear unlikely to be met, as the 22-year-old midfielder has found opportunities limited under the Palace coaching staff.
Speaking about the player’s situation, Torres admitted that circumstances could still change before the end of the season, but made it clear that Getafe would welcome Uche back should the loan be cut short. He noted that the door remains open for the midfielder to return to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
“He’d be welcome back if he returns,” Torres was quoted by Tribal Football.
Despite showing flashes of promise, Uche has made only four league appearances for Palace so far, leaving his long-term future uncertain as the January window approaches.
