Srini Pallia has been named by Wipro as the company’s managing director and chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Rishad Premji, Chairman, of Wipro, confirmed the appointment in a media release on Saturday.
Wipro is a Bengaluru-based technology services and consulting company focused on building solutions that address clients’ digital transformation needs.
He takes over for Thierry Delaporte, who, after leading the IT services company for four years, is leaving to follow passions outside of the office.
Srini will answer to Chairman Rishad Premji and be located in New Jersey.
Having worked for Wipro for over 30 years, Srini is a member of the Wipro Executive Board.
He served as CEO of Americas 1, Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing strategic market.
In this capacity, he handled various industry sectors, defined their goals, and implemented growth plans.

Since joining Wipro in 1992, Srini has occupied a number of executive roles, including head of business application services globally and president of the company’s consumer business unit.
Srini has led the business through some of the biggest technical transformations it has ever seen, and he brings to the CEO position a wealth of institutional and industry knowledge.
