Minister of state, Labour & Employment Festus Keyamo (SAN) has claimed that God “raised” the Labour Party candidate Peter Obi for the purpose of making Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the next president of Nigeria.
The controversial lawyer made the statement while he was reacting to the report where the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, was quoted as saying Obi stopped the north from retaining the presidency.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Tinubu emerged victorious at the just concluded elections as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer Atiku Abubakar came second while Obi finished third in the keenly contested three-horse race for the presidency.

The spokesperson for APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council Keyamo however viewed Obi’s impact at the presidential race in another light as he said:
“Indeed, God Almighty raised Peter Obi for a purpose: that purpose was to make @officialABAT President. Peter Obi was the means to an end, but not the end itself.
“Many Men of God, with the greatest respect to them, obviously missed this part of the visions that they saw about 2023.”
