In a solemn gathering, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, renowned businessman Aliko Dangote, and other prominent figures bid a heartfelt farewell to the late Chief Akintola Williams today.

Chief Akintola Williams, a distinguished Nigerian, was the first chartered accountant in the country.

Chief Williams was a leader of the accounting profession in Nigeria, and he played a significant role in shaping the country’s financial sector.

The prominent businessman, who died in his sleep at the age of 104, was the founder of Akintola Williams Consulting Group.

Writing on his social media page Gov Sanwo-Olu said:

”Today, I joined the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Aliko Dangote, and other eminent Nigerians to bid farewell to Chief Akintola Williams.

”He was an outstanding Nigerian and a true Lagosian. Indeed, we’ve lost a legend.

”At 104, Chief Akintola Williams lived a remarkable life. He blessed us with leadership and an enduring legacy. We’ll miss him dearly.”
