Governor Seyi Makinde, on Friday, at the Government House in Ibadan, hosted the Ark of Hope for All Foundation as they held their 9th Annual Charity Programme, graciously hosted by the Government of Oyo State for the fifth consecutive year.
The event served as a platform to express gratitude to those committed to caring for vulnerable individuals within society.
During the event, Governor Makinde addressed several challenges highlighted by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) responsible for the well-being of vulnerable individuals.
The challenges primarily revolved around the cost of healthcare and sustenance for their beneficiaries.
In response, the governor announced the implementation of strategic measures to alleviate these burdens.
Governor Makinde unveiled plans to register approximately 3,000 children and caregivers under the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency through the SAfER (Strategic Actions for a Resilient Society) programme.
The initiative aims to provide comprehensive health coverage for the beneficiaries, ensuring access to essential healthcare services.
Additionally, as part of the SAfER programme, the governor announced the distribution of food relief packages to orphanage homes, addressing the immediate needs of these institutions and their occupants.
