Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been named Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 GQ Türkiye Men of the Year Awards, capping a stellar run of form in Turkey.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international was pivotal to Galatasaray’s domestic success last season, registering 37 goals and seven assists across all competitions. This season, Osimhen has continued his fine form, scoring 11 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side.
After receiving the accolade, Osimhen expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers, his club, and fans worldwide. “I want to say a big thank you to GQ. Can’t forget my Galatasaray family.
‘‘This means so much to my family and me. I appreciate everyone who has supported me up to this hour,” he said. “I will continue to do my best for my family, for Galatasaray, and for the fans all over the world.”
The award adds to a growing list of individual honours for Osimhen, whose impact at Galatasaray has cemented him as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards and a national hero for Nigeria.
