David Hirsch, a prominent United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) figure, has announced his departure from the agency after nearly nine years.
Hirsch, who served as the chief of the SEC’s Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit since 2022, shared his news on LinkedIn, reflecting on his long tenure and the milestones achieved during his time with the SEC.
Hirsch began his career at the SEC as a staff attorney in the Fort Worth Regional Office in 2015.
Over the years, he took on increasingly complex and challenging cases, culminating in his appointment as the head of the Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit.
This role placed him at the forefront of regulating the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency sector.
