Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul have both promised knockouts as anticipation builds for their blockbuster £100m showdown set for December 19 in Miami.
Joshua, a two-time world heavyweight champion, delivered a menacing warning during their first face-off at the Kaseya Centre. The British star, who has not stepped into the ring since his knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois in September last year, made it clear he plans to dismantle Paul brutally.
“It’s massive. It’s colossal. It’s making big news,” Joshua said as the fighters came nose-to-chest. “We’re bringing marketability and ability together. And honestly? I’m going to break his face, break his body, and stomp all over him.”
The eight-round clash, set to stream live on Netflix, has captured global attention—largely because of the stark contrast between the fighters. Joshua, standing at 6’6” with a world-title pedigree, towers over the 6’1” Jake Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer still carving out legitimacy in the sport.
Despite the size and experience difference, Paul remained defiant in Miami, refusing to be intimidated by Joshua’s stature or his warning shots. His confidence only added fuel to an already explosive build-up.
“I just have to avoid that one shot for eight rounds, and I believe that I can do that,” Paul said. “I want him to cut me up. I want him to break my face, but guess what? He’s going to have to kill me to stop me, and I’m ready to die. Seriously. Ready to die in the ring to win this fight.”
With the stakes high, the spotlight massive, and both boxers predicting knockouts, Miami appears set for a fiery December showdown.
