Hopes lost for Tinubu in Southeast as many APC members defect to PDP

Enugu state have experienced a massive defection as many All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the West senatorial rejoin have joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

The defectors have now endorsed the PDP gubernatorial candidate Peter Mbah after setting their brooms on fire on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

The group of defectors who was led by Gilbert Chikwado-Chukwu said that their action was historic and triumphant, PM News.

He added that the PDP was Enugu’s only hope for good leadership  because of the good governance and massive infrastructure the state was enjoying under the party.

Receiving the defectors was the chairman of the PDP in Enugu Augustine Nnamani who lauded their decision and assured them of a level-playing ground in the party.

Nnamani said: “You have foresight for the realisation that it’s only the PDP that can continue to transform the state through its excellent policies. 

“I want to appreciate you because you recognised that in Enugu, there is peace and security, massive infrastructure, thriving environment and other dividends of democracy.”
