Huge blow for Peter Obi LP’s as deputy gov candidate, senatorial aspirants, others leave party to join APC

The Labour Party (LP) has lost some of their key members  in the Zamfara state chapter to the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

Deputy governorship candidate Alhaji Sule Dansadau, three senatorial candidates Yahaya Audi Mafara,  Alhaji Sani Yusuf Danmasami, Engineer Adamu Yakubu and seven candidates for the House of Representatives all left the party to join barely weeks before the general elections.

Fourteen out of the 19 candidates for the House of Assembly also defected to APC who were all received  by the chairman of Zamfara 2023 governorship campaign council Abdulaziz Yari, The Nation.

There was a ceremony held for the defectors at Talata-Mafara Local Government Area as the state chairman of APC, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri.

Damri expressed delight over their resolve to join the APC, which he described as a big plus to the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
