Popular Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has disclosed that her music career didn’t start until she graduated from university at age 18.
The singer made the statement during an interview in Nairobi, where she disclosed that her mother ensured she prioritised going to school first before doing music.
According to Ayra Starr, she wrote her WAEC before she got to SS3, passed it and then entered the university in Benin where she spent 3 years.
Ayra Starr further stated that the support she has received from family members and friends has continued to keep her grounded.

She said her sister is her personal assistant and her brother is her videographer.
Meanwhile, Ayra Starr has dismissed the rumour of being romantically involved with Rema.
In a recent interview with Kiss FM, the music star said she was just being informed about the rumour.
“I haven’t heard that before,” she said.
When asked to confirm if it’s true, Ayra Starr said Rema is like a brother to her.
“No, that’s my brother in Christ o,” she said.
