Super Eagles and Fulham FC midfielder Alex Iwobi has told those who care to listen that he has no regret playing for Nigeria instead of lacing his boots for the English national team.
The talented player disclosed in a recent interview with Hotspot that he chose Nigeria ahead of England because he connected better with the Nigerian culture.
Iwobi, who switched allegiance from England to Nigeria after playing for the England youth team, however, said that he respects England because they gave him a lot of opportunities.

He said, “I wouldn’t say I have any regrets. I’d like to say I respected England; they gave me a lot of opportunities, and I was able to do them proud.
“But I feel more at home with Nigeria. I feel this is where I’m at home and where I represent, like my family and everyone else.
Iwobi, who made his senior international debut for Nigeria in October 2015 and was part of their squads at the FIFA World Cup in 2018, noted that he has no regrets about picking Nigeria over England.
“I’ve grown up in a Nigerian culture so I’d say that I have no regrets picking Nigeria over England.” The soccer star said.
