I keep receiving death threats – Late Mohbad's wife reveals

Cynthia Omowumi Aloba, who is known as Mohbad’s wife, has disclosed that she had been the target of death threats ever since her husband passed away.

Following her husband’s death, Cynthia claimed to have started receiving death threats at the Candide-Johnson Court House in Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu.

“A lot of people are defaming me on ‘TikTok,” she said. “I don’t feel safe at my husband’s house, so I left.”

During the cross-examination conducted by David Fadile, the attorney for Mohbad’s father, Cynthia revealed that she gets along well with her father-in-law and considers him to be her best friend. She denied getting a visa to Canada as well.

However, she did disclose that Mohbad had expressed a desire for them to move to Canada due to the claimed abundance of his “opponents” in Nigeria.

Cynthia, who has known Mohbad since high school, said that out of his desire to keep her and their child safe, he decided to refrain from sharing any images of them on social media.

Although Mohbad wanted to go to the hospital to be treated for the injury he sustained during his encounter with Prime Boy, he chose not to do so due to his fear of Azeez Adeshina Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and his experience with NDLEA operatives, according to Cynthia.

She disclosed that she was unaware of her husband’s cut sustained during a fight with Prime Boy until Monday, September 11, when she discovered a trace of blood on the bed sheet.

She continued by saying that they were forced to use first aid and Panadol because the nurse who was meant to treat Mohbad wasn’t accessible.

Tuesday, September 12, saw the singer receive injections in his left arm from a different nurse after her husband’s close friend “Spending” contacted the nurse.

Cynthia said she was in the kitchen cooking when she observed the nurse trying to give a second injection into his hands. She acknowledged that she didn’t ask what kind of injection he had received. However, Mohbad informed the nurse that he suffered from an ulcer and advised her to be cautious.

Cynthia said that her late husband was transferred to Kuda Hospital initially, where they did not treat him, and then to another hospital, where they declared him dead, during the cross-examination by Falana and Falana Chamber’s Taiwo Olawanle.

Under cross-examination by Olumayowa Ogunsami, the deceased’s father’s attorney, she revealed that her late husband had ceased to be friends with a particular Michael, also known as Mice, after learning he was an informant for Naira Marley. She claims that when her late husband took him to a lawyer to address royalties owed to him by Naira Marley, he found out that he was recording their talk.
