Emerging reports claim operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have arrested the award-winning Nigerian singer, D’banj, for alleged fraud.

Sauces at the commissions told The Cable newspaper that the singer is being questioned for allegedly diverting funds released for the federal government’s N-Power project.

The agency was said to have detained D’banj when he visited the ICPC headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, December 6.

However, the commission reportedly refused to grant the singer administrative bail because he had declined to honour an initial invitation.

Sourced told the newspaper that D’banj was still in detention as of Wednesday morning, December 7.

Another newspaper Premium Times reported that ICPC alleged that D’Bang has colluded with compromised government officials by fraudulently diverting millions of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for the N-Power project.

The funds were said to have been transferred to accounts that have been linked to the singer.

In another news, reports claim that singer Portable hit a pedestrian with his car while driving in the Ipaja area of Lagos on Friday, December 2.

A video which emerged online showed the singer pleading with a lady said to be the victim of the accident.

Portable was heard in the video saying; sorry, sorry, sorry, as he led her away from the scene of the accident.
