Nigerian heavyweight Kingsley Ibeh (based in Arizona, USA) has publicly thrown down the gauntlet to Anthony Joshua, declaring—with unfiltered confidence—“I will definitely knock him out!”

The challenger didn’t stop there: Ibeh wants the fight staged in Nigeria, promising a roaring home crowd and a spectacle to rival any recent heavyweight showdown.

“We need the right platform and the right opponent to make a statement with, and there’d be no better one than AJ,” Ibeh told Sky Sports.

He believes he is the ideal candidate to fight Joshua in Nigeria. “That would be definitely a dream come true,” Ibeh said. “That would be amazing.”

But he added, “It doesn’t matter where it is, I’m ready.”

“Anywhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the UK. I would love to dance with him in the O2 Arena.”

“I would definitely stop him, no questions about that, it’s going to come down to how soon or how quickly it goes.”

Ibeh’s challenge arrives at a moment of renewed interest in AJ’s next move, and it’s pure tabloid gold: a brash Nigerian hopeful demanding centre stage and predicting a shock result.

Promoters will weigh purse splits, rankings, and broadcast rights — but from a marketing angle, an AJ vs Ibeh bout in Lagos would sell out instantly and explode across social feeds.
