The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the impeachment threat against President Muhammadu Buhari by the senators elected on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform as a significant distraction.
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, stated this in an interview with Punch.
Morka, who accused the Goodluck Jonathan administration of “incubating Boko Haram” to the level of a fighting force, noted that impeaching President Buhari would not end the country’s security and economic challenges.
“It was the same Jonathan administration that incubated Boko Haram to a point where it became a fighting force. Many of them who are in that party really should be hiding their faces by now,” Morka said.
“Again, this is not to suggest that all is well. There is obviously, some very serious work to be done. This government will do his work.
“If it is that simple to remove the President and everything about Nigeria is solved, the PDP would have done it way back when they were in power.
“A lot of issues we are talking about today were incubated by the same individuals and party when they were in government,” he added.
Morka maintained that, like Nigeria, most countries are also experiencing various security challenges.
He urged the PDP to desist from actions that could be counter-productive to the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
