Barely two months after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Plateau State and promised to facilitate the delivery of security facilities to some parts of the state, a youth leader of Angwan Rukuba in the Jos North Local Government Area (LGA), Samson Chiroma, has disclosed that the federal government is yet to fulfil its promises, News.ng reports.
Chiroma, who appeared on Channels Television on Tuesday, said that some of the promised security facilities, including CCTV cameras, have not been installed.
According to him, the only visible infrastructure promised after the attacks is the street lights provided by the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
He said, “After the visitation of the president, after he left, I think we have not presently, we have not gotten anything from the promises, but from the office of the governor we have started having a street light, and then the process of the camera has been starting, but right now on the ground the only thing we have in respect to security at Angola is the issue of street lights.
“We don’t have anything related to CCTV cameras presently. Now the only thing we have after the attack is only this street light from the governor.”
This news platform had earlier reported that President Tinubu visited Plateau State on Thursday, April 2, 2026, and headed to Jos to commiserate with grieving families and state leaders following the deadly gun attacks in the Angwan Rukuba community.
Recall that in the early hours of March 29, 2026 (Palm Sunday), gunmen on motorcycles invaded the Angwan Rukuba (Anguwar Rukuba) community in Jos North LGA, reportedly killing about 30 residents and injuring many others. The state government subsequently imposed a 48-hour curfew.
