Governors of Ogun and Oyo states Dapo Abiodun and Seyi Makinde have been declared winners of the governorship election held on March 18, 2023.
The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) returning officer in Ogun state, Professor Adebowale, Vice Chancellor University of Ibadan confirmed Abiodun’s re-election into office.

The APC candidate polled 276, 298 votes while his closest challenger Oladipupo Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party finished second scoring 262, 383 votes.
In Oyo state, the PDP had the upper hand as Makinde won the polls with 563,756 votes to defeat his closest rival, Teslim Folarin of the APC who garnered 256,685 votes.
In Kwara state, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also declared the winner of the gubernatorial election.
Abdulrazaq will spend another four years in office after winning all 16 local government areas of the state.
