The Senate has today approved the appointments of Mr. Ola and Mrs Hammajoda to serve as the President and Secretary of the EFCC respectively.
This follows the suspension of the former Anti-Graft Agency chief, Abdulrasheed BAWA, and the appointment of Mrs Halima Shehu to the role of the pioneer National Coordinator / Chief Executive Officer of NSIPA.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Lekan Tinubu, had requested the Senate to examine and confirm the appointments in a letter sent to him on Tuesday.
Tinubu had approved the appointments last week Thursday. The two persons will serve for a first four-year renewable term, subject to Senate confirmation.
