Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has said that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, is more capable of leading Nigeria than Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar.
Keyamo, who speaks for the APC presidential campaign organization, noted that Atiku has never held a decision-making position in Nigeria’s history.
“Asiwaju has the capacity to make the final call. The major rival we have today (Atiku) has not held any executive position where he made the final call in government. So, we cannot second-guess. Atiku Abubakar has not held any government position where he made the final call,” he said on ChannelsTV.
The legal practitioner disclosed that Tinubu’s record as Lagos state governor places him a hundred miles ahead of Atiku and other presidential candidates.
“Nobody comes close to Asiwaju’s record in public office in the last 23 years or 21 years in Nigeria. Nobody comes 100 miles close to his record. He is the easiest candidate to sell (to the electorates), and we are going to sell him,” Kayamo declared.
He noted that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, was ahead of Atiku in terms of executive experience.
Keyamo stated that Tinubu would ensure the continuity of President Muhammadu Buhari’s development plan while introducing new programmes aimed at improving the living standard of Nigerians.
