A Nasarawa State University (NSU) Lecturer Dr. Comfort Adike from the  Faculty of Administration, who was kidnapped earlier on Sunday night, has been freed. Her family and supporters reportedly paid the kidnappers N5 million as ransom.

According to a source who spoke to journalists on Wednesday in Lafia, the lecturer was released and is at the moment undergoing medical examination at a hospital. The source said that the ransom was paid before the kidnappers released her.

News.ng learnt that on Sunday night, heavily armed men stormed her residence in Keffi LGA (Angwan Jaba) and took her to an unknown location.

Kidnappers and criminals are doing what they want, especially in Northern Nigeria, and the government needs to do something about it because people are living in fear because of insecurity, he said.

At the time of writing, this report has not been responded to by the Nasarawa state police command. Calls made to their Public Relations Officer DSP Ramhan nansel to seek his resy were not successful as he did not pick up his cell phone.
