Celebrity car dealer Ikechukwu Ogbona, Popularly known as IVD has been arraigned before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for the alleged manslaughter of his late wife, Abimbola Ogbonna.
IVD was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No LD/21055C/23 by the Lagos state government.
At the resumed hearing of the case on Monday, March 20, the prosecuting counsel, Adeshola Bello informed the court that there was a mix-up in the date the alleged offence was committed.
He said:
“We have October 10 on record, but the date was October 12.”
Bello urged the court to grant the prosecution permission to make an amendment, which the court granted.

The prosecution counsel argued that the alleged offence contravened Section 229 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
IVD pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer, Victor Ogunde, SAN, sought bail for the defendant.
Justice Nicole-Clay, however, adjourned the case till March 30, May 24 and May 25 for the commencement of trial.
In another news, former Big Brother Naija housemate, Mercy Eke, has reacted to claims that she is in a romantic affair with a celebrity car dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD.
In a tearful video posted on social media, Mercy said the rumour linking her with IVD, who recently lost his wife in death, was false.
The reality star said she had dealings with IVD only when she purchased a faulty Range Rover from him in September 2020 and, after that, demanded a refund.
