English Premier League (EPL) side Leicester City has offered Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi a new two-year bumper contract to ward off potential suitors.
This was revealed in a recent Leicester Mercury article that said the newly promoted team wanted Ndidi to remain at King Power Stadium for an additional season.
But still, the financial terms of the new contract extended to the defensive midfielder, who made 273 appearances for the team in all competitions while contributing 17 goals and 17 assists, were not made public.
In a related development, English Premier League side Everton FC has also indicated an interest in signing Ndidi from Leicester City in the summer.

Everton’s interest in Ndidi was made known in a report published by TEAMtalk which revealed that the EPL club wants the player as a replacement for Amadou Onana, who could leave this summer.
Further reports also suggest that Sevilla and Real Sociedad are also interested in the 27-year-old player, whose present club, Leicester City, announced on Friday that they are in talks to renew his contract.
It was also reported earlier that Spanish La Liga side Barcelona joined the race to acquire the services of Ndidi, especially given the Catalan giants’ desire to bolster their midfield alternatives.
