Liverpool has reached a total agreement with Newcastle United to sign Swedish striker Alexander Isak in what is expected to be one of the most high-profile transfers of the Premier League window.
Sources familiar with the deal confirmed on Monday that negotiations between the two clubs, which had accelerated in recent days, concluded with a breakthrough agreement covering both the transfer fee and the payment structure. Personal terms with the player are also understood to have been settled, paving the way for a medical to take place later this week.
Per a post shared on X by transfer expert David Ornstein, a medical for the player will be done on Monday before a deadline-day switch for the Sweden international.

Isak has been a central figure at Newcastle since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2022, scoring crucial goals in the Magpies’ return to the Champions League and establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting forwards. His pace, movement, and finishing ability made him a standout target for Liverpool, who view him as a long-term replacement in attack.
Isak is expected to sign a five-year contract at Anfield once all formalities are completed. If the move goes through as planned, he will become one of Liverpool’s most expensive signings ever, underlining the club’s commitment to strengthening their attacking options.
