The Federal Government has officially announced a planned restriction of traffic flow from Lagos Island to Iyana Oworo on the Third Mainland Bridge, set to commence at midnight on Wednesday.
This decision has been made to facilitate and expedite critical repairs as part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
Mrs Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, conveyed this crucial information in a statement released on Tuesday night in Lagos.
In her communication, Kesha emphasized the importance of cooperation from motorists during this period and extended apologies for any inconveniences that may arise due to the restrictions.
The specific time frame for the traffic restriction is from 12:00 a.m on Wednesday, March 6, to 12 noon on Thursday, March 7.
This duration has been earmarked to allow the contractor to execute a substantial phase of the ongoing repair works on the Third Mainland Bridge.
During this specified period, the Third Mainland Bridge will not be open to Iyana-Oworo-bound traffic.
To navigate this situation, Kesha strongly advised all road users on this route to consider alternative paths.
However, the Iyana-Oworo to Island-bound carriageway will remain open and accessible exclusively for island-bound motorists throughout the designated timeframe.
