Mastercard appoints Folasade Femi-Lawal as Country Manager and Area Business Head for West Africa

Mastercard, a global digital payment and technology leader, has appointed Folasade Femi-Lawal as the new Country Manager and Area Business Head for West Africa. 

With over 25 years of diverse experience in financial services, management consulting, telecommunications, and business advisory services, Folasade will drive Mastercard’s strategic vision, innovation, and growth agenda, and strengthen partnerships in the West African region.

The company stated that Folasade has a strong track record of achieving business growth objectives and has held key roles in Mobile Financial Services and Digital Banking Strategy at First Bank, Nigeria. 

”She brings extensive experience in digital payments and has played instrumental roles in driving innovation and enhancing customer experiences across the banking sector.

”In her new role, Folasade will work closely with various private and public sector stakeholders in West Africa to advance Mastercard’s mission of building a more connected and inclusive digital economy. 

”She is recognized for her commitment to fostering inclusive growth and empowerment, particularly for women and children. 

”Folasade is eager to support the Nigerian government’s agenda for developing a powerful, inclusive, and secure digital economy,” Mastercard said.
