Spanish tactician Mikel Arteta, the coach of the English Premier League (EPL) club, Arsenal has issued worrying injury updates for both Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.
Recall that in Sunday’s exhausting Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners drew 1-1 with Chelsea, and both Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice sustained injuries.
Moments after the match, in which Pedro Neto equalized following Gabriel Martinelli’s goal for Arsenal, Arteta said he doesn’t think they’ll be ready for the Nations League.
He argued that for both players of that importance to tell one that they cannot continue with the game obviously means it is not good news but he stated that team doctors will do their best to get both players up and running again as soon as possible.
“It doesn’t look good,” Arteta said. “For two players of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game, obviously it’s not good news.
“Two players that just came off, I don’t expect them to be fit because if they are, they don’t come off.”
