Mikel Arteta, the coach of English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal has shed more light on the deal to bring Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori to North London.
The Spanish coach who was fielding questions from the media after his side trained in Los Angeles as part of their pre-season preparations coyly replied when asked about the player.
Arteta however noted that Arsenal is making moves to bring in players to improve and give the squad better resources in terms of numbers where the team is short.

He said: ”No unfortunately not but we know there are certain positions that we want to improve and give the squad better resources in terms of numbers where we are short but we will try our best but the main thing is to focus on falling in love with the players we have and make them better.
Meanwhile, The Athletic claims in a report that everything is in place for the 22-year-old to join the Gunners, with other sources claiming a fee of £42 million ($54.3 million) has already been agreed.
According to the report, the player must still go through medical checks, but once all of that is done, the centre-back will join Mikel Arteta’s team for their pre-season tour of the United States.
