Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has disclosed that he and ex-Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba are working to convince Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea.
Mikel, who disclosed in a video trending on social media said that they have both been speaking to Osimhen ahead of his proposed move to Chelsea this summer.
“I will try my best to make sure Victor Osimhen comes to Chelsea. Didier Drogba is also talking to him,” John Obi Mikel said in the video on the social media platform, X.
This comes weeks after Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda reacted to his client’s rumoured move to EPL side Chelsea in a swap deal with Romelu Lukaku.

Recall that the media has been awash in the past two days of a reported loan deal involving Osimhen moving to Chelsea and Lukaku pitching tents with Napoli.
The swap deal which was reported by The Athletic further claimed that it included a buy option for Osimhen who is seeking a move away from his current club Napoli.
However, in a post on his X account (formerly Twitter), Calenda has rubbished the reports describing them as fake news and an unfounded imaginary trade involving his client.
“I’ve read about unfounded imaginary trades involving Victor, shipped around like a package ready for delivery.
‘‘But remember that this “package” is the top scorer of the third scudetto in Naples’ history.
‘‘Respect and no more fake news!’’ Calendar wrote on his official X page.
