FG stressed the need for an increase in the number of NIS personnel at various borders for enhanced security in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, revealed this during the appointment decorations of CG and 6 DCGs in the FCT on Wednesday.

Tunji-Oji also stressed to the freshly decorated officers to prioritize Nigeians in search of travel documentation.

The Minister further called on the appointed officers noting that the president who okayed their appointment will be glad to see them achieve greater heights in service and groundbreaking success in reforming the service and making it easier for Nigerians to process travel documents.

In a statement he called on the NIS senior officers to closely oversee the activities going on at the land, air and water borders to maintain security, he also urged that more NIS officers be sent to various borders.

“In another statement, he called on the NIS to ensure their governing of activities leads to positive reforms and dedication in service.”

The six DCGs decorated are DCG Usman Auna, DCG Zainab Lawal, DCG Babangida Usman, DCG Sadat Hassan, DCG Kemi Nandap and DCG Ijeoma Emenike.
