Everton are reportedly monitoring Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina as they look to strengthen their right-back options during the January transfer window. The Premier League club has struggled for stability in that position this season, with veteran Seamus Coleman limited by injuries and long-term prospect Nathan Patterson also sidelined for much of the campaign.

According to reports from SportsBoom, Everton officials have compiled a shortlist of potential signings for manager David Moyes, with Aina among the names under consideration.

However, Moyes remains cautious about pursuing the 29-year-old, who is only just returning from a lengthy hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with Nigeria in September 2025.

Aina made his comeback against Aston Villa on January 3, marking his first appearance since the injury. The defender, who joined Nottingham Forest from Torino in 2023, extended his contract at the City Ground last year and remains tied to the club until 2028.

While Everton continues to search for reliable options at right-back, Aina’s recent fitness issues could influence the club’s decision, with Moyes weighing the balance between experience and match readiness at a critical stage of the season.
