Talented Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor popularly known in music circles as Rema has declared that his success came so suddenly that some people wish he didn’t get it too quickly.
The “Calm Down” crooner who disclosed in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club said that because he hasn’t been in the industry for ten years, some people might be hesitant to accept his claims to be on par with the “Afrobeats Big 3”.
Rema, who was discussing why some people are reluctant to give him the credit he deserves, claimed a place next to the group known as the “Afrobeats Big 3,” which consists of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.
The musician commented on his speedy ascension, which was further boosted by the popularity of his record-breaking song “Calm Down” with Selena Gomez, saying, “I think the success came so quickly that some people wish I didn’t get it too quick.”
“You know when they want to give you respect and you have to be 10 years in the game, I think my career didn’t play according to those rules. I was already breaking 7-year-old records when I was just 3 years in the game,” Rema added.
