Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has advocated for robust risk management strategies in the telecommunications industry.
Speaking at the Telecoms Industry Risk Management Conference in Lagos, Maida emphasized the industry’s position at the crossroads of tradition and transformation.
Addressing the theme, ‘Evolution and Future Risk Management in the Telecoms Industry: Harnessing Emerging Technologies and Trends,’ Maida acknowledged emerging technologies’ unprecedented opportunities and challenges.
He highlighted the transformative impact of technologies like 5G, anticipation of 6G, and the looming prospect of 7G, stressing the need for proactive risk management.
Maida cautioned about the evolving risks associated with cybersecurity threats, ethical considerations, and the deployment of new technologies like quantum technologies, advanced artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
