It was a mild trading activity on Tuesday on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) as 746,832,449 shares were traded with a value of N27.84 billion in 65,258 deals, news.ng reports.
According to data, Tuesday’s trading session showed a rather weak trading day compared to Monday’s, as trading volume declined by 2%, turnover dipped by 11%, and deals fell by 25% as investors remained cautious.
Amid the mild trading session witnessed, the NGX market capitalisation stood at N125.9 trillion, again showing a solid valuation of the equities listed for trading.
At the end of the session, out of the 131 listed equities, 33 stocks closed in the green territory while 43 recorded losses.
Premier Paints Plc (PREMPAINTS) saw its share price appreciate by 9.97% to close at N17.65 per share. This was followed by Conoil Plc (CONOIL), which recorded a 9.95% gain to close at N204.40 per share. Sunu Assurances Nigeria Plc (SUNUASSUR) also gained 9.95% to close at N4.75 per share.
Other gainers include Daar Communications Plc (DAARCOMM), which rose by 9.84% to close at N2.01 per share. Eterna Oil (ETERNA) was not left out of the gainers’ chart, recording a 9.56% advancement to close at N51.00 per share, while NEM Insurance Company (NEM) saw its share price increase by 9.11% to close at N34.15 per share.
On the losers’ chart, National Salt Company of Nigeria (NASCON) shed 10% to close at N147.60 per share, followed by Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc (MBENEFIT), whose share price declined by 10% to close at N4.59 per share. Red Star Express Plc (REDSTAREX) also lost 9.94% to close the day at N28.55 per share.
Other losers include Austin Laz & Company (AUSTINLAZ), whose share price dropped by 9.88% to close at N3.74 per share. SCOA also declined by 9.85% to close at N27.90 per share, while Fortis Global Insurance Plc (FTGINSURE) lost 9.59% to close at N1.32 per share.
In terms of trading volume, Access Holdings Plc recorded 80.3 million shares traded, followed by Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc with 52.7 million shares. Fortis Global Insurance Plc recorded 41.4 million shares traded, while Zenith Bank Plc posted 35.3 million shares traded.
