The Nigerian Exchange (NGX), after the close of trading on Wednesday, recorded a total of 1,226,395,659 shares exchanged in 54,128 deals, with a market turnover of N38.8 billion, News.ng reports.
According to data made available by the NGX, today’s trading showed that volume declined by 3%, turnover fell by 33%, and the total number of deals decreased by 5%. Market capitalization stood at N157.1 trillion, equivalent to USD115 billion.
Further details revealed that, out of the 133 listed equities that participated in trading, 30 recorded gains, while 36 closed the day in the red.
Among the gainers, Livestock Feeds saw its share price rise by 10% to close at N9.35 per share, followed by Deap Capital Management & Trust, whose share price gained 9.86% to close at N5.35 per share.
Others included Abbey Mortgage Bank, which recorded a 9.78% gain to close at N12.35 per share, and Vitafoam Nigeria, whose share price rose by 8.25% to close at N210.00 per share.
On the losing side, Neimeth International Pharma led the decliners with a 10% drop in its share price to close at N9.00 per share, followed by International Energy Insurance (IEI), which lost 9.92% of its share price.
Also, John Holt declined by 9.73% to close at N13.45 per share, while Union Homes Real Estate Investment depreciated by 8.56% to close at N70.00 per share.
Sterling Bank recorded the highest trading volume, with 565 million shares exchanged, followed by FCMB Group with 122 million shares traded. Access Holdings recorded 49.5 million shares traded, while Jaiz Bank recorded 34.9 million shares traded.
