Nigeria would be among the top five economies of the world if we have leaders like Tinubu, says APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has stated that Nigeria has a breath of fresh air over the Bola Tinubu-led presidency.

Garba, a former presidential aspirant under the ruling party, made the assertion while reacting to the recent policies of President Tinubu.

He was reacting to Tinubu signing four Executive Orders on Thursday, July 6.

One of the orders was suspending the five per cent Excise Tax on telecommunication services and the Excise Duties escalation on locally manufactured products.

Tinubu also signed The Customs, Excise Tariff (Variation) Amendment Order, 2023, shifting the commencement date of the tax changes from March 27, 2023, to August 1, 2023.

The Nigerian leader also ordered the suspension of the newly introduced Green Tax through Excise Tax on Single-Use Plastics, including plastic containers and bottles, and the suspension of the Import Tax Adjustment levy on certain vehicles.

The president’s action was in response to concerns raised by manufacturers and stakeholders regarding recent tax changes by the Buhari administration.

An excited Garba, who is also an investor in the fintech sector, wrote on Twitter:

“These Executive Orders, super-excellent. Gentle people, I tell you this: President Tinubu means business. Imagine this style of leadership till 2031. Nigeria would be among the top five economies of the world.”

Speaking earlier about the president, Garba stated:

“You cannot love Nigeria and genuinely care for the future development of the country, yet have issues with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“He is the best and, in every way possible, a patriotic, strong, and sincere leader we all yearn for. As Nigerians, we are lucky to have Tinubu as our president.”
